2. Traditional media spreads brand awareness with a broader brush.

You don’t distinguish what you refer to as “traditional”. While it is generally true, there are micro offerings targeted toward very specific client profiles that traditional media is a very ineffective way to approach.

Having said all of this, your hypothesis is likely correct. (URL is BRAND NEW and under construction)

I would say combined with Social Media Marketing, it can be a very effective strategy. :-)

    Hi s.wells,
You are absolutely right, and thanks for mentioning that! When I speak of “traditional” I am creating sort of a big basket of mass media such as TV & print, direct, and out-of-home. The usual consumer fair. While there are some methods to reach niche markets, they are usually expensive and ineffective as you said. My belief is that an integrated approach is the best and most effective solution.

Thanks for your comment. I look forward to reading more of your comments and posts.

Good points on finding a way to blend or weave the traditional with the social media.

This will help with those clients that feel intimidated by social media and are more comfortable with the “traditional.” Social Media can be a “part” of your overall marketing efforts.

One is not the substitute for the other . . .
Use both in concert by taking an integrated approach. Done correctly 1 +1 should equal 3.
